Lupus can affect pretty much any organ in the body and cause inflammation. This can lead to infections and possibly even kidney failure. A patient can also become severely depressed.

There will be a combination of symptoms taken into consideration plus lab work to determine if Lupus is present. It takes time to diagnose and with proper care, it is a treatable disease, although it is not curable.
